Curt Cool was the not-quite-lonely soul visiting Ze Deutchen Easter (Oyster) party in Saarbrücken – oh yes, theze germans keep moving the party further and further away from Denmark. You bastards. Or something.

This also ment the release of the traditional Depth (&Focus Design) 64kb filler entry, this year entitled “Freeloader“. Thanks to Corial – unfortunately no prize since there were actually more than three entries in the 64kb Amiga intro competition, thus obseoleting the meaning of the filler entry. Also, Curt Cool released about two music entries, of which, most memorably, “Revisiting the 90s” reached 5th place in the tracked music competition.

On a personal level, Curt sez “super-awesome to meet all of you guys (for some of you: Again might be appropriate) – Kötzritzer rulzt!” (and that’s a beer which Mr. Cool bought and drank/gave away a crate of, should anyone be in doubt).

On the subject of the future, it is most definitely coming ’round, mainly all of the time, and it might among other things contain releases, or at least we receive interplanetary telegrams of such information. And bollocks. Mainly that, in fact.

Once again, some of us (namely Presence, Cytron & Curt Cool) took a (long) trip to Bingen am Rhein, Germany. Some on the Danish Onion Bustrip, which was long and filled with noisy Adonis and Steel on the way down and shabby ninja movies (amongst others) on the way home. Naturally, we took our pants off as Danes are supposed to do during demowatching, had a good time with German beer (and plenty of friends by the bonfire and generally enjoyed ourselves. Curt Cool also released a few tunes – which came 11th in 4ch music and 7th in oldschool executable music. Tunes can be found at the Breakpoint website. Thanks friends for an excellent time!

Some even had the courage to bring their girlfriend… And it doesn’t seem like they split so far, which means that our behaviour may have sadly improved over the years …

Better late than never – Curt Cool was at Breakpoint ’09 and competed in three music compos, with no notable results – which makes certain facts and conclusions spring to mind – the thing is, it seems nobody really cares about the music competititions at Breakpoint, which is probably due to the quite low quality of the selection of tunes – or that the scene audience have completely revolved into people who mainly care for boring and unvaried variants of techno, drum’n'base etc. Still, music compos have always been a strange thing but the Breakpoint policy of not allowing competing musicians in the preselection juries probably keeps some competent people out of them – and that actually matters since only about a quarter or a fifth of the party visitors actually vote in the music competitions. Friend voting matters too I guess…

On a lighter note, it was great to meet the usual suspects, drink (more than) a few great German beers and generally enjoy oneself. Demowatching is best with your PANTS DOWN. Stay in awesome – don’t join tired!
